With the fun summer months around the corner, the weather brings a little-known hazard to some in our facility…Bees!!
Bee’s can build nests in our racks outside and work their way into the plant or get aggressive once the rack is disturbed. This is a great topic of discussion because some people may be allergic, and awareness may help in getting a fellow Team Member help after a bee sting.
I encourage those of you who are allergic to bee stings to let your Team know and where your epi-pen is located, should an allergic reaction occur. Let your supervisor, management, safety committee or Maintenance know if a bee nest is found within any racks so we can safely take care of it.
